Description

Cross the Peziè de Parù bridge, and follow track 434 which takes you into the forest until you reach the small mountain hut Cason de Formin.

Continue along the Val de Formin valley, on track 435, until you reach the like-named gully.

From here, keep left, and you will reach the gully Forcella Ambrizzola, and then, going downhill along track 434, you arrive at the mountain lodge Rifugio Croda da Lago, alongside the lovely Lake Federa.

Continue hiking along the same track, going around the northern ridge of the Croda da Lago massif, and when you are near Cason de Formin, you will rejoin the track that you hiked at the start of the route. The route may present difficulties due to the distance, the total ascent and the variable conditions of the snow cover. Hikers are strongly recommended to seek assistance from mountain guides and to check snow and weather conditions before any trip. How to reach the starting point From the centre of Cortina, take the road towards the Falzarego Pass.

After about 20 minutes, when you are near the hamlet Pocol, turn left towards the Giau Pass.

Once you are in the vicinity of the mountain hut Malga Peziè de Parù, on the left you will see a car park near an unmissable sign for the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites.
